I met Michael in 2003. I'm just a fan and asked him if he'd ever considered having a website. We had lunch, hit it off, and I became his webmaster.
My wife and I were invited to meet his family for brunch at Michael's home. His family is wonderful as you might imagine, they treated my wife and I as old friends. Giving us a tour of their home, every one of them asked at some time during the day if we would like something to drink or eat. We felt so special. They are all very kind people.
If Michael and his wife Alana were near us, we live in Dana Point, they would invite us to lunch.
I can't provide you with a biography of Michael, I did not know him that well. It was a unique view that I had of Michael, and it extended into a difficult time for Michael when Alana became ill.
I was privileged to be able to hear stories from his life and observations of the day. His stories were always positive. Michael always bragged about his kids, he was so proud of them and you could see it in his eyes. He loved Alana so much and spoke of her with excitement. He told me he was actually surprised she fell in love with him, "...when she had her pick of leading men."
That's what I will remember about Michael. Fond memories about friends and family, along with his positive outlook for our future. ~
