'll
think long and hard before I get my next 'flu shot. After having to
wait several weeks and having made several enquiries, I eventually got
the needle in the arm. Within a couple of hours of receiving it, I began
to feel as if I was coming down with 'flu. For four days I have felt
lousy and had almost no voice for radio. Alana says it sounds sexy -
I know it sounds awful. I'm hoping a weekend's rest, along with medications,
hot tea and being pampered by the family will bring me back to full
voice, so as to tackle some of the planned interviews for this coming
week. They include...
Maria Shriver, First Lady of California and wife of
Governor Arnold. Obvious question; will he become a Democrat before
she becomes a Republican? How serious is he about heading a campaign
to make it possible for any citizen, born here or imported from another
country, to seek to become President?
Reverend Jerry Falwell, The founder and leader of the
so-called Moral Majority. I don't think they are the majority and I
have no idea how moral they are. Over the years we have had many conversations
and we seldom agree on most issues. I'd love to know what it was that
caused him to change from his segregationist views of yesteryear and
what of his campaign to get rid of public schools in this country and
have the Church run education.
Police Chief William Bratton. Entering his third year
as chief of the L.A.P.D. he's seen a drop in crime, an improvement in
morale in the force and proved himself to be popular with the public,
the mayor and the city council. No mean feat in Los Angeles. But the
force is far too small, 9,100. Can he succeed without a large increase
in the ranks and where will the money come from?
Phil Jackson, the enigmatic former championship winning
coach of the Bulls and the Lakers. What does he really think of Kobe
and Shaq? How does he handle these over-privileged, brilliant athletes
who are rich beyond belief, spoiled and frequently emotionally immature?
Clay Aiken, 24 year old, trained to work with autistic
children , but more than anything he wanted to sing for a living. He
entered The American Idol, got to the finals and then his career took
flight. What's sudden stardom like?
Jamie Foxx, one of Hollywood's finest acting talents.
From stand-up comedian to "In Living Color", from dramatic
to utterly memorable and possibly an Oscar contender in the life of
Ray Charles. Funny, charming and unpredictable.
Barbara Walters, an exclusive conversation with the
most enduring, (whatever she says, she'll never retire) pioneers of
television.
Very
soon now I'll be able to give you a time-table of when interviews can
be heard on KNX. And I have been lead to believe that in the near future
the conversations will be heard on the internet...whenever you choose
to hear them.
And there will likely be more.
